Windi Apriani (born 10 April 1987) is an artist from Bandung, a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. Windi Apriani's work is of a realist nature - bringing similarities to whatever he uses as a reference, usually his works are made to look simple and simple by using himself as a reference or point of reference.
Windi's trademark technique is collecting very detailed and precise hatching lines or shadows using a pen. For Apriani, line is a medium for expressing experience, contemplation and sensitivity to objects. However, Apriani's art is not just about representation; it is related to reality and expectations, present and past within the frame of perception.
This technique is not commonly applied to the photorealism genre on canvas. For this reason, Windi's works do not appear to stand out at first, but rather invite the viewer to come closer and observe the atmosphere of the canvas. In accordance with his technique, Windi's work seems closer to the concept of drawing than painting. Even so, it would not be wrong to call his works paintings, because they are made on canvas, and one can also feel the subtle shading of colors in various parts of the canvas itself. Windi's works may contain two possibilities, such as drawing and painting. It could be said that categorizing Windi's works may not be the main priority, but rather the deeper concepts he wants to express
